Karaoke Night At Tumbleweeds

This is Ed, or as I call him, the "Ernest T Bass" of Tumbleweeds. He sure is a character.
Is this not the cutest couple? His name is R.B. her name is Stephanie
It's difficult to get a wide angle of the bar area. This is taken from one corner.
This is taken from another corner. I'm trying to give everyone an idea of how much room we have on the bar side. To the left of this picture is the restaurant area which is seperated by a wall.
This is the "oldest" singer. His name is "Bus" and he's a widower who just loves to sing every Thursday. It's always either Frank Sinatra or Elvis Presley.
This was our youngest singer. I'm not sure who he is but the crowd went nuts when this little guy got up and sang his heart out.
This is Vinny, he's one of my cooks and like usual he's goofing off and hamming it up for the camera.
This is Joann, she's one of my waitresses, when she sings the hair on your neck will stand on end. She's that good!
"Van" is one helluva a nice guy. He's also unofficially in charge of "Bike Night" on Wednesdays. He's also the fire chief for the town of Matthews.
The girl in the foreground is Lyndsey, she's one of my bartenders and the girl in the background is Stephanie, she's one of my managers.

Everyone seemed to have had a great time. One thing about Karaoke is though it's not extremely crowded the people who show up stay for the entire 3 hours. Laughter, cheering, and clapping is what one can expect on Thursdays nights at Tumbleweeds.

Duke Rape Case Update

Looks like it's getting worse for the prosecution. Like I've said from the beginning there is no doubt in my mind these guys are innocent of rape.

The woman who says she was raped by three members of Duke's lacrosse team also told police 10 years ago she was raped by three men, filing a 1996 complaint claiming she had been assaulted three years earlier when she was 14.

Authorities in nearby Creedmoor said Thursday that none of the men named in the decade-old report was ever charged but they didn't have details why.

Even though the district attorney is a democrat he should see that this case is a loser. You can only pander for votes so long. But my guess is he'll ruin these students reputation for as many African American votes as he can get , then he'll drop the case. Unfortunately for the students their lives will never be the same.

Smackdown!

Watch Neil Cavuto absolutely obliterate a true blue (or should I say red?) communist. Senator Dick Durbin didn't know what hit him when this interview was over.

I'm curious, why is the left so uhinged when it comes to capitalism and democracy? Turban Durbin cries about the 400 million that Exxon's CEO received for retirement. I'm sure he knows that the stockholders voted on the CEO's package. Talk about democracy and capitalism in action. The CEO's job is to increase shareholder wealth (capitalism) and since the stock price during his reign went up some 500% (capitalism) the shareholders voted to compensate the CEO 400 million dollars (democracy) I despise when democrats play their class envy games. Pitting American against American soley on what someone earns is despicable!

How Much You Want To Bet This Judge Is A Democrat?

One wonders when reading this if we're living in the United States or the old Soviet Union?

BEEVILLE — Texans don't like to be messed with, especially in this rugged South Texas county not far from some of the state's major independence battlefields.

So, it was only a matter of time before Bee County Judge Jimmy Martinez said someone had to stand up to tackle a national epidemic striking at the heart — and pockets — of local residents: Rising gas prices.

This week, Bee County became the first in the state, possibly the country, to pass a resolution asking motorists to boycott fuel pumps beginning Monday.

County elected officials said they would ask others in the state to follow suit.

"Hey, the American people are tired," Martinez said. "What we did is we simply took action instead of complaining.

Judge Martinez, the American people are tired of the government gouging us at every turn. Why not give back some of that 50 cents a gallon you're taking and leave the oil companies alone? It's truly amazing to see how democrats have such a seething hatred for Capitalism. And while you're at it why not let the oil companies drill in that baron wasteland up in Alaska? Oh, and while we're on the subject how about allowing them to build some new refineries? There, there are 3 things YOU can do to bring down the cost of fuel.

God help us all if democrats like Judge Martinez ever regain power again!

Dumb Headline Of The Day

First Indian skis to North Pole, says it's freezing

Wow! You mean it's freezing at the North Pole? Who'd a thunk it?

Gas Price Gouging

With the media hysteria over the supposed "price gouging" of oil companies I thought it would be prudent to see what goes into the price of a gallon of gas. First off the oil companies make roughly 9 cents a gallon in profit. Doesn't seem outrageous to me, how about you? In fact oil companies are generally right in the middle of percentage of profit as all public corporations.

What might be surprising to find out is that 50 cents out of every gallon of gas is taxes. The federal government takes 18.4 cents, the state and "other taxes" account for the rest. You can find out where your state rates in taxes on gasoline here. Here in North Carolina we are right at the average. My old state of Illinois taxes gasoline at a rate 10 cents higher.

So, who is actually doing the gouging? It sure ain't the oil companies, it's the government. What I'd like to see is an investigation by the oil companies into the government to see where those 50 cents a gallon is going. Then I'd like the government to cut those taxes and give us drivers some relief. Of course that isn't going to happen.

Gotta Feeling They Really Don't Have Any "Sources?"

I couldn't help but laugh out loud as I was reading this piece of intellectual laziness from the Communist News Network.

The sources said they expect him to announce his decision within the next few days.

A source familiar with the discussions said Monday that newly appointed Chief of Staff Josh Bolten asked Snow to make a decision by early this week.

Two sources familiar with the discussions said Bolten wanted to fill the post this week, as early as Tuesday.

Sources familiar with Snow's deliberations said he has been focusing on family, finances and his health, as he battles colon cancer.

Sources familiar with the matter said the White House approached the Fox anchor several weeks ago.

Republicans familiar with the discussions said David Mulford, currently U.S. ambassador to India and a former Treasury Department official who also was the European chief of Credit Suisse First Boston, is considered a candidate for the job.

When it's this obvious why don't they just admit they are just making all this stuff up?

Planet Of The Apes

Check out what the new socialist (ie. democrats) government in Spain is doing. Once again, nobody could make this stuff up!

The Spanish Socialist Party will introduce a bill in the Congress of Deputies calling for "the immediate inclusion of (simians) in the category of persons, and that they be given the moral and legal protection that currently are only enjoyed by human beings." The PSOE's justification is that humans share 98.4% of our genes with chimpanzees, 97.7% with gorillas, and 96.4% with orangutans.
The party will announce its Great Ape Project at a press conference tomorrow. An organization with the same name is seeking a UN declaration on simian rights which would defend ape interests "the same as those of minors and the mentally handicapped of our species."

According to the Project, "Today only members of the species Homo sapiens are considered part of the community of equals. The chimpanzee, the gorilla, and the orangutan are our species's closest relatives. They possess sufficient mental faculties and emotional life to justify their inclusion in the community of equals."

Hey, why bother with such trivial matters like terrorism (remember the 300 slaughtered a couple years ago in Spain?) or high unemployment, or out of control taxes when you've got to give citizenship to a bunch of monkeys?

John Kerry Celebrates Being A Traitor

This is unbelieveable! Even for a democrat, to admit and celebrate being a traitor to your fellow soldiers is stunning.

THIRTY-FIVE YEARS ago today, I testified before the United States Senate. I was a 27-year-old Vietnam veteran who believed the war had to come to an end.

Kerry is actually celebrating the anniversary of his perjury in front of the Senate when he said this:

They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, tape wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the country side of South Vietnam.

Since when did it become en vogue to proudly celebrate committing perjury and smearing your fellow soldiers with lies? It's almost inconceivable that you would be proud of your vicious hatred of the military and every man and women serving their country.

Can we question their patriotism yet?

Dumb Headline Of The Day

High gas prices keep me from exercising

If you want to see an arrogant, elitist, America hating, left wing radical kook all you have to do is read why this idiot isn't going to excersize anymore.

Comet On A Collision Course With Earth

And it's all George Bush's fault. You just can't make this stuff up.

KEALAKEKUA, Hawaii, April 13 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Eric Julien, a former French military air traffic controller and senior airport manager, has completed a study of the comet 73P Schwassmann- Wachmann and declared that a fragment is highly likely to impact the Earth on or around May 25, 2006.

Julien argues that the kinetic energy of even a 'car sized' fragment will impact the Earth with devastating effect. He concludes the May 25 event is tied in to the Bush administration's policy of preemptive use of nuclear weapons against
Iran, and the effect of nuclear weapons on the realms of higher intelligences.

I believe Julien has a terminal case of Bush Derangement Syndrome. What's even more amazing is someone found this newsworthy. God help us all if democrats ever regain power.

Media Bias On Steroids

This could be the most bizarre article I've ever seen. I wrote previously about the CIA agent who was fired for treason. That's what this article is about but check out the picture. Tell me, what does "Scooter" Libby have to do with the article? His name is not even mentioned. Mary McCarthy is a democrat who illegally leaked a story that actually turned out to be a fabrication for the sole purpose of aiding the enemy. "Scooter" Libby is a Republican who is charged with perjury related to something that wasn't even a crime.

Is the democrat run AP news service trying to trick the readers into believing the story is somehow about Mr. Libby? The media bias is stunning!

Dumb Headline Of The Day

Attorney proclaims client's innocence

This is worthy of a headline? I would think if the attorney proclaims his clients guilt, now that would be headline material.

RIP

Terry Ulizzi

My former bartender and friend. I hope you find the peace and comfort you were seeking. You are in better hands now. I'll miss you.

Gas Prices

With the media in hysterics about the rise of gas prices I was doing some figuring in my head. I heard more than one democrat "reporter" breathlessly claim that in one month prices have increased 30 cents a gallon and then went on to claim that this is going to destroy the middle class.

Well, my truck has a 20 gallon tank. I usually get 10 days of driving on a full tank. Therefore it costs me a whopping 60 cents a day more now than it did last month to drive those 10 days. Oh yeah, half the price of a can of Pepsi a day is really going to destroy the middle class. Even if it goes up another 20 cents a gallon from here the cost will still only be ONE WHOLE DOLLAR a day more than it did last month.

Don't you just love the hysterics from the democrat run media?

Another Democrat Lies

But this time gets caught. Remember the big kerfuffle over those supposed "secret prisons" that the CIA were operating in Europe? This is where our military were supposedly torturing terrorists. Far left wing "journalist" Dana Priest just won the Pulizer for this story..........er........lie. Seems the EU who were embarrassed about this couldn't find one single prison nor any evidence there ever were any such prisons.

Here is where it gets interesting. The CIA agent who illegally leaked this "information" has been fired. Her name is Mary McCarthy. Hopefully she is tried for treason and if not executed she at least spends the rest of her life in prison. She was also part of the far left wing organization Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Oh, and a quick seach finds that she donated $7,700 to democrats in 2004. $2,000 to John Kerry, $5,000 to the Ohio democrat party, $500 to the democratic national committee, and $200 to Andreasen for congress.

Don't expect to see much in the news about this though. Since the mainstream media is on the side of democrats they'll surely ignore the treasonous actions made by this CIA agent.

Can we question their patriotism yet?

How Democrats Feel About Religion

A trip to democratunderground gives us a sample of how democrats feel about those who believe in God. Here is a typical response

I've always thought a lot of religious people were deeply insecure about the existence of non-believers because it reminds them of their deeply repressed thoughts that what they believe is completely ridiculous and illogical. Because the majority of the country falls into Magical Thinking, it's usually easy for them to ignore these nagging doubts. When a reminder pops up that not everyone concurs, they get angry and insecure.

I had a boss once who was actually very intelligent and educated. His wife decided to suddenly embrace fundamental Christianity. There was tension in the marriage before he decided to fall in line. His insecurity about believing that "the Earth is 4,000 years old" was palpable. He KNEW deep down that it was all a load of crap, but that only spurred him to spew the Magical Thinking more vehemently.

There are a few who try to stick up for those with devout beliefs but it's not long before they themselves are ridiculed. You can read the rest here but I must caution you, much vulgar language in many comments.

More On The Duke "Rape" Case

As my readers know I am almost 100% convinced that the Duke Lacrosse players are innocent of rape. I have written a pretty in depth post with facts that we know as of today to back up my belief.

One of my favorite blogs is Ankle Biting Pundits and they are pretty darn reliable with their information. This is all second hand information but fits right into the facts that we know today. "Bulldog" is a former prosecutor and has a "reliable" source at Duke. He provides all the disclaimers in his post but I think this second hand information is important and will contribute to my thoughts from the beginning that this is just another "Tawana Brawley" type case.

- The players ordered white strippers, but got one that was black and one that was Latino

- The strippers were completely stoned on arrival

- The strippers did not strip

- One of the strippers (the accuser) passed out on the back porch

- Some of the players actually carried her out to her car because she was
so intoxicated she couldn't walk

- Nobody touched her

- Many of the players not implicated have lost summer internships and job opportunities over the allegations.

- The layout of the house and where the party took place is such that there was no way for someone to be carried up the stairs against their will (as I believe the accuser is alleging) without a significant portion of the people at the party noticing it.

- Not a single player resisted giving DNA for testing, because they all knew that it would show nothing.

Read the rest of Bulldogs post here.

Like I've said before this is a racially motivated prosecution. The democrat prosecutor is pandering to the African American voters and is destroying these innocent young mens lives in the process. I hope when all is said and done that the prosecutor is not only disbarred but these kids are able to sue him for every penny he has.

Dumb Headline Of The Day

Ok, it's not actually the headline, it's the second paragraph but it's too funny not to include it as a "Dumb Headline Of The Day."

A Beautiful Tribute

This was sent to me by my Mother and my Aunt.

Tawana Brawley Part 2

What do you get when you have an out of control DA who is pandering for the Black vote during an election year? "Tawana Brawley South" and a bunch of college kids who will never get their reputations back. Seems the fact that the DA was able to get a couple of sealed indictments has turned even once semi intelligent people into raving moonbats. I for one am not inclined to believe a democrat DA in a political struggle during an election year so easily. Let's review the facts that we know.

First lets take a look at an interview given by the Security Guard who was at the scene when the 911 call took place. Since no one else is reporting this, the Security Guard is a FEMALE.

The Kroger security guard had a similar impression of the woman, according to interviews she gave to attorneys representing the lacrosse players. The guard said neither the woman nor the driver of the car -- she also was a dancer at the lacrosse team party -- said anything about a sexual assault or about anything being taken from them.

"Was it your opinion, being a normal person, that anybody there acted like they'd been assaulted or raped?" investigators for the defense attorneys asked the guard.

"No. I mean, she was out of it. I mean, ain't no way," the guard replied. But she also noted that the woman didn't smell of alcohol.

Does anyone else wonder why this hasn't been widely reported? And then we have this report from the police on the scene.

DURHAM, N.C. -- A woman who claims she was raped by three members of Duke University's men's lacrosse team was described as "just passed-out drunk" by one of the first police officers to see her, according to a recording of radio traffic released Thursday

The officer gave the dispatcher the police code for an intoxicated person. When asked whether the woman needed medical help, the officer said: "She's breathing and appears to be fine. She's not in distress. She's just passed out drunk."

If this was "only" a "he said she said" case this in and of itself is pretty damning to the strippers claim of being raped. But wait, did I also mention that the DNA results were all negative for each and every member of the Duke Lacrosse team?

You would think that we would have learned something during the 19 years since the Tawana Brawley hoax. But evidently as long as the "victim" is a minority and the "accusors" are white some people will believe anything. I can't help but wonder if Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Alton Maddox, and C. Vernon Mason were members of the grand jury?

I wonder what all the race hustlers and women who believe every case of rape will have to say when the DA is disbarred and the stripper arrested for bringing false charges? My bet, nothing, they'll just move on to the next perceived "injustice" done to minorities or women. My only question is, where do these young men go to get their reputations back? This case will follow them for the rest of their lives. I suppose a couple of ruined reputations is fine by the feminists and race baiters as long as it serves their cause in some way.

This country will never come together when it comes to race or gender as long as people believe these racist bigots like Al Sharpton and pandering DA's like Mike Nifong.

UPDATE: It appears the charade will be playing out to its conclusion. Two of the Lacrosse members turned themselves in overnight.

Trying To Criminalize Christians/Conservatives

This belongs in the category "You just can't make this stuff up." What happens when a Librarian suggests 4 books authored by Conservatives? Why, he's investigated for "sexual harrassment" of course. No, I'm not making this up.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Officials at the Ohio State University are investigating an OSU Mansfield librarian for “sexual harassment” after he recommended four conservative books for a freshman reading program. ADF has demanded that OSU cease its frivolous investigation, yet the university is pressing forward, claiming that it takes the charges “seriously.”

“Universities are one of the most hostile places for Christians and conservatives in America,” said ADF Senior Legal Counsel David French, who heads ADF’s Center for Academic Freedom. “It is shameful that OSU would investigate a Christian librarian for simply recommending books that are at odds with the prevailing politics of the university.”

Scott Savage, who serves as a reference librarian for the university, suggested four best-selling conservative books for freshman reading in his role as a member of OSU Mansfield’s First Year Reading Experience Committee. The four books he suggested were The Marketing of Evil by David Kupelian, The Professors by David Horowitz, Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis by Bat Ye’or, and It Takes a Family by Senator Rick Santorum. Savage made the recommendations after other committee members had suggested a series of books with a left-wing perspective, by authors such as Jimmy Carter and Maria Shriver.

Savage was put under “investigation” by OSU’s Office of Human Resources after three professors filed a complaint of discrimination and harassment against him, saying that the book suggestions made them feel “unsafe.” The complaint came after the OSU Mansfield faculty voted without dissent to file charges against Savage. The faculty later voted to allow the individual professors to file charges.

Tell me, how can a recommendation of 4 Conservative books make anyone feel "unsafe?" Are these left wing kook democrats serious? They sure have learned well from their heroes Stalin, Mao, and Castro!

Is There Any Doubt?

Who do you think presented this image of "United States of Islam?" Al Qaeda? Another terrorist organization? Well, sort of. CBS news is now officially a terrorist organization. Why the sympathy for the animals who slaughtered 3,000 innocent Americans on 9-11? I'm not sure but for some reason the democrat run media outlet is upset that Americans have a dim view of Islam. Maybe I can help CBS out. In the name of Islam terrorists flew planes into the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon. London was bombed as was Madrid Spain. On two seperate occasions Bali nightclubs were blown up in the name of Islam. Dozens of innocent people have had their heads cut off in the name of Islam. A man was sentenced to death for changing his relgion from Islam to Christianity. Women are sentenced to death for being raped because Islam says they must be. Muslims riot and kill people because of some cartoons. I could go on and on but I think this is enough even for the democrats at CBS to understand why Americans don't like Islam much.

More News You Won't Find In The Mainstream Media.

As I was perusing County and Employment Wages from the BLS I noticed that year over year wages increased by 6.1% from 2004 to 2005. That puts to rest the lie that all these new jobs are "burger flippers." That's twice the rate of inflation. It's generally considered a "strong" economy if wage increases and inflation are the same. It's sad and pathetic that the democrats have to lie about the economy to try and score cheap political points.

U.S. Military Exceeds Recruiting Goals

The U.S. military exceeded key recruiting goals in December, appearing to overcome the difficulties it had last year in filling the ranks of its all-volunteer force, the Pentagon said Jan. 11.

The army and the marines, the services most heavily engaged in Iraq and Afghanistan, both surpassed their active duty recruiting goals for the month by six percent each, it said.

Democrats Selling Out The United States To Mexico

Literally! Check out this flyer that was distributed during the recent pro illegal immigration rally in Dallas. We all know that democrats have a seething hatred for the United States but this is taking it too far even for the far left wing kook fringe.

It's paramount that the democrat part implode and quickly before we lose all the freedoms our founding fathers bestowed upon us.

Would it surprise anyone if democrats began courting the terrorist vote? Seems logical since they want illegal aliens and felons to vote. Think about it, the democrats at Yale University admitted the propaganda minister of the Taliban. If liberals would accept a close associate of bin Laden what's to stop them from demanding that terrorists get full citizenship?

More Media Bias

Remember when Clinton bombed the aspirin factory in the Sudan? Seems the democrat run media didn't mind that Clinton "leaked" classified information to the press to try and get the truth out. Heres how Andrew McCarthy from NRO sees it.

So what did the Clinton Administration do? Exactly what it should have done. It had intelligence officials leak to the media previously undisclosed, previously classified information which put President Clinton’s decision in sensible context. Besides anonymous leakers, the Administration later sent its top counterterrorism official, Richard Clarke, to provide — selectively — some of the available intelligence, so the public would understand why President Clinton’s actions had been justified. Here’s how the Washington Post reported it on January 23, 1999:

While U.S. intelligence officials disclosed shortly after the missile attack that they had obtained a soil sample from the El Shifa site that contained a precursor of VX nerve gas, Clarke said that the U.S. government is “sure” that Iraqi nerve gas experts actually produced a powdered VX-like substance at the plant that, when mixed with bleach and water, would have become fully active VX nerve gas.

Clarke said U.S. intelligence does not know how much of the substance was produced at El Shifa or what happened to it. But he said that intelligence exists linking bin Laden to El Shifa's current and past operators, the Iraqi nerve gas experts and the National Islamic Front in Sudan.

Given the evidence presented to the White House before the airstrike, Clarke said, the president “would have been derelict in his duties if he didn't blow up the facility.”

The press was not very supportive of the Sudan bombing — it was, after all, a use of American military power. But they liked Clinton, so the selective disclosure of previously classified information by Clinton officials was treated matter-of-factly — as it should have been. The story was about the information, not the leak.

Seems it's only when a Republican tells the truth by releasing "classified" material is it a scandel. It must be nice to be a democrat and not be able to feel shame.

Media Bias Gone Wild

Check out this headline from Reuters from a few days ago.

Strong economy equals more heart attacks: study

Can anyone recall any headlines like this during the Clinton years? So, does the democrat run Reuters want the economy to be in a recession? Is their contention that if only more people were unemployed they would be healthier? This is liberal self parody on steroids!

Even A Blind Squirell Finds A Nut Every Now And Then

I was a bit shocked to find the far left Washington Post actually telling the truth. Bush Derangement Syndrome or BDS for short has infected just about every newsroom in America so I have to give credit where credit is due. Here's to the Washington Posts brief moment of clarity.

PRESIDENT BUSH was right to approve the declassification of parts of a National Intelligence Estimate about Iraq three years ago in order to make clear why he had believed that Saddam Hussein was seeking nuclear weapons. Presidents are authorized to declassify sensitive material, and the public benefits when they do. But the administration handled the release clumsily, exposing Mr. Bush to the hyperbolic charges of misconduct and hypocrisy that Democrats are leveling.

Rather than follow the usual declassification procedures and then invite reporters to a briefing -- as the White House eventually did -- Vice President Cheney initially chose to be secretive, ordering his chief of staff at the time, I. Lewis Libby, to leak the information to a favorite New York Times reporter. The full public disclosure followed 10 days later. There was nothing illegal or even particularly unusual about that; nor is this presidentially authorized leak necessarily comparable to other, unauthorized disclosures that the president believes, rightly or wrongly, compromise national security. Nevertheless, Mr. Cheney's tactics make Mr. Bush look foolish for having subsequently denounced a different leak in the same controversy and vowing to "get to the bottom" of it.

The affair concerns, once again, former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV and his absurdly over-examined visit to the African country of Niger in 2002. Each time the case surfaces, opponents of the war in Iraq use it to raise a different set of charges, so it's worth recalling the previous iterations. Mr. Wilson originally claimed in a 2003 New York Times op-ed and in conversations with numerous reporters that he had debunked a report that Iraq was seeking to purchase uranium from Niger and that Mr. Bush's subsequent inclusion of that allegation in his State of the Union address showed that he had deliberately "twisted" intelligence "to exaggerate the Iraq threat." The material that Mr. Bush ordered declassified established, as have several subsequent investigations, that Mr. Wilson was the one guilty of twisting the truth. In fact, his report supported the conclusion that Iraq had sought uranium

I have no doubt that the Post will be back to BDS tomorrow but for today I can say congratulations!

Foreplay 3rd World Style

Ok, it's almost 4 in the morning so maybe this isn't as funny as I find it at this hour. But I'm still laughing so it has to be kind of funny. I hope anyway.

More Ridiculous Political Correctness

How did we let democrats get us to this point?

MAYNARD, Mass. -- A family in Maynard is outraged after their 5-year-old daughter was forced to write a letter denouncing hugging after a classmate embraced her.

NewsCenter 5's Amalia Barreda reported that Brenda Brier and Michael Marino pulled their daughter, Savannah, out of school early Wednesday. The couple was angry after a meeting with officials at the Greenmeadow Elementary School in Maynard, where Savannah is in kindergarten.

At issue is a hug Savannah said she got on the playground from a friend named Sophie. Savannah hugged Sophie back. The hugs resulted in Savannah having to write a letter, complete with teacher corrections, that read, "I touch Sophie because she touch me and I didn't like it because she was hugging me. I didn't like when she hugged me."

If you've got 10 minutes

This is a great little video. I'm no fan of Pen and Teller but they are right on about the 9-11 conspiricy kooks.

New York Times Admits To Lying

It took 2 months after the article appeared but at least they admit they lied. Now if they would only admit that they made it up to hurt the President, that would be real progress.

An article on Feb. 9 about the military's recruitment of Hispanics referred incompletely to the belief of some critics that Hispanics in the Iraq war and blacks in the Vietnam War accounted for a disproportionate number of casualties. Statistics do not support the belief. Hispanics, who are about 14 percent of the population, accounted for about 11 percent of the military deaths in Iraq through Dec. 3, 2005. About 12.5 percent of the military dead in Vietnam were African-Americans, who made up about 13. 5 percent of the general population during the war years. The error was pointed out in an e-mail in February; the correction was delayed for research after a lapse at The Times.

Not only did the democrat run Times lie the truth was exactly the opposite of what they claimed. One has to just shake their head when the Times claims that percentage wise more Hispanics died in Iraq than their general population percentage. Then to find out that they have died at a lower percentage than the national population.

You can add this lie to the Al Qaa Qaa lie in 2004, the "guy" who was the prisoner that had the fake wires attached to him at Abu Ghraib lie, the Katrina victim who was living in New York lie and the lie about the "30 headless bodies found in Baghdad. What an embarrassment this democrat paper has become.

In Court Filings, Cheney Aide Says Bush Approved Leak

Of course this flat out lie comes straight from the New York Times. I wonder if anyone at that democrat run paper knows that if the President authorizes it it is the OPPOSITE of a LEAK

John Kerry Advocates Surrender

What a fitting place for John Kerry to demand we surrender to al Qaeda than the America hating and habitual lying New York Times. Right off the bat the French looking surrender monkey sees Vietnam in Iraq.

Half of the service members listed on the Vietnam Memorial Wall died after America's leaders knew our strategy would not work. It was immoral then and it would be immoral now to engage in the same delusion. We want democracy in Iraq, but Iraqis must want it as much as we do. Our valiant soldiers can't bring democracy to Iraq if Iraq's leaders are unwilling themselves to make the compromises that democracy requires.

Mr. Kerry, do you mean these "valiant soldiers?"

"They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks"

Oh yeah, we know how you feel about our military. Do you really think we would forget your seething hatred for those who wear the uniform? Anyway, on to this spineless cowards approach to warfare, the old cut and run strategy that will obviously lead to a great victory for those who slaughtered 3,000 innocent Americans on 9-11.

As our generals have said, the war cannot be won militarily. It must be won politically. No American soldier should be sacrificed because Iraqi politicians refuse to resolve their ethnic and political differences.

So far, Iraqi leaders have responded only to deadlines — a deadline to transfer authority to a provisional government, and a deadline to hold three elections.

Now we must set another deadline to extricate our troops and get Iraq up on its own two feet.

There it is, the old run away with your tail between your legs strategy. What is it with democrats and their need for the U.S. to be humiliated? This next part is staggeringly ignorant.

Iraqi politicians should be told that they have until May 15 to put together an effective unity government or we will immediately withdraw our military. If Iraqis aren't willing to build a unity government in the five months since the election, they're probably not willing to build one at all.

This testosteroneless, emasculted, former presidential candidate believes that a brand new government MUST build a "unity government" in ONLY 5 months? Is there any question that democrats are fully invested in the failure of the United States military? I wonder what it's like to root against the interests of ones own country?

Mr. Kerry, I believe you've been henpecked and beholden to your billionaire wife so long that you've forgotten that real men will fight until it's over. Why don't you go back to windsurfing and let the men (and women) that have the character and courage that you can only dream of win this war on terror ok?

Now That's Funny!

Dumb Headline Of The Day

We've got a twofer today. I couldn't choose just one so here are a couple of really dumb headlines.

Jesus Could Have Walked on Ice, Scientist Says

I suppose he could have walked on water as well.

Tattoos, visible piercings could affect appearance-related job opportunities

What a brilliant observation. On a personal note I had a waitress ask me the other day if she could get her nose and lip pierced. Of course my answer was "sure, but good luck finding another job."

Political Correctness Gone Mad

Ok, what is the morale of this story?

Elliot, 14, said he was walking to the school entrance in the brisk weather March 3 and had placed his hands in his coat pocket when he felt the Swiss army pocketknife in the pocket.

"I went straight to the office right inside (the front door)," he said.

He said he handed the knife to Teri Donahue, the school's treasurer, and told her he had brought it to school by mistake.

As a result of Elliot's actions, the school's principal, Jimmy Meadows, suspended Elliot for the maximum 10 school days as allowed by law and recommended Elliot be expelled. A confidential expulsion hearing is scheduled for April 10.

I guess this school teaches you to be dishonest. What would the school have this boy do?

When I was a kid we would bring our new boy scout knives in for show and tell. Now we would be expelled from school for it. I wish the teachers and administrators spent as much time teaching Math, Science, and Reading as they do on zero tolerance. Maybe then the students would learn something contructive.

What To Do If Your Movie Bombs?

Why blame Bush of course. You just can't make this stuff up.

Paul Verhoeven director of the first "Basic Instinct" (which scored $353 million worldwide) as well as the widely ridiculed "Showgirls" (now regarded as something of a camp classic), attributes the genre's demise to the current American political climate.

"Anything that is erotic has been banned in the United States," said the Dutch native. "Look at the people at the top (of the government). We are living under a government that is constantly hammering out Christian values. And Christianity and sex have never been good friends."

Couldn't be that it's just a bad movie eh? I must have missed the law "banning anything erotic." The intlellectually challenged elites never cease to amaze me.

Will The New York Times Ever Stop Lying?

Remember this from the New York Times one week ago?

BAGHDAD, Iraq, March 26 — The bodies of 30 beheaded men were found on a main highway near Baquba this evening, providing more evidence that the death squads in Iraq are becoming out of control.

Well, turns out this was just another made up lie by the democrat run newspaper.

WASHINGTON, April 3 (UPI) -- A top U.S. general in Iraq said reports that 30 headless bodies were found north of Baghdad were false.

"We went to multiple sites to look for the 32 headless bodies that was reported to our headquarters, and we did not find anything; nor did any of the local citizens that were in these areas could verify that anybody had ever been in there. So I look at that report as completely false right now," said Maj. Gen. James Thurman, the commanding general of the 4th Infantry Division.

Why is the public letting the New York Times get away with this? Whatever happened to reporting the facts? What happened to "objective" journalism? How this paper can continue to undermine the United States and the war on terror is beyond me.

I wonder how much these "experts" make?

Heh!

This Is Just Plain Sick!!!

I'm actually surprised it's a felony but I'm glad it is.

DELTONA, Fla. (March 30) - A convenience store clerk pleaded no contest Thursday to felony charges of tampering after he urinated in a bottle of soda that was later drunk by a customer who became violently sick.
