Democrats Taking Money From Veterans

And giving them to people of a different country. This would be amusing if it weren't so sad. This is how democrats "support the troops."

This story is about a two-part process that led to unbelievable decisions. First, the Veterans' Committee took away benefits from some very deserving American veterans. Second, the committee gave benefits to veterans of another country who don't live in the United States, and never have lived in this country or been American citizens.

The Filipino veterans' provisions in HR 760 are similar to a plan passed by the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee.

If signed into law, it would provide full veterans' status to World War II era Filipino soldiers and even their survivors.

Perhaps more egregious is how the Democrats offset the cost of the new benefits. Because of House PAYGO rules, any new entitlement spending (such as the Filipino Veterans Equity Act) must be funded by either a corresponding cut in existing spending or matching revenue gains.

In this case, the Democrats on the Veterans Committee voted to save nearly $1 billion by eliminating a $2,200 special monthly payment to veterans who are less than 100 percent disabled, but 60 percent or greater disabled.

Can we question their patriotism yet?

Patriotism, they know nothing of the meaning of the word. How evil to even think of saving $1 billion from our American heros who are disabled only to give it to another country. What are we doing here in the US? Have the democrats taken leave of their senses, or did they ever know how to run a country. Every democrat on the Veterans Affairs Committee should be immediately dismissed never to serve in this capacity again. The idea of denying $2,200 per month for American servicemen who are disabled is more than disgusting, it is unbelievable. Since when did other countries become so much more important than the U.S.? If these people had a brain they would not know what to do with it. One thing is for sure, someday they will be resposible for all their dispicable acts. The article in the Ohio paper which reported it, should send to all newspapers in the country so the details would be available for every citizen to see just how our government is treating our servicemen, especially the ones who are disabled. God help us all.

There is a saying "to each his own", which should certainly apply to where each country gives its own veterans the benefits they fought for. It is not the responsibility of the United States to usurp the American Veterans benefits to other countries. How and when did this horrible act begin? It is past time it ended and we start treating our veterans with the respect they have earned and deserve. This is akin to giving illegals food, shelter, clothing, medical care, etc. in instances where the U.S. citizens are denied such benefits when they are in poverty. I believe in giving a helping hand whenever it is necessary, however, I do not believe that we should overlook the people who have given us freedom.

Liberalism = giving all the money in the U.S. to other countries, no matter what the cause or whether or not we are responsible for the whole world. Linda's response is excellent where she said chairty begins at home.

All of us veterans live just like anyone else, we need what is ours but if the government gives it away we will do without.
