Political Correctness Gone Mad
Ok, what is the morale of this story?
Elliot, 14, said he was walking to the school entrance in the brisk weather March 3 and had placed his hands in his coat pocket when he felt the Swiss army pocketknife in the pocket.
"I went straight to the office right inside (the front door)," he said.
He said he handed the knife to Teri Donahue, the school's treasurer, and told her he had brought it to school by mistake.
As a result of Elliot's actions, the school's principal, Jimmy Meadows, suspended Elliot for the maximum 10 school days as allowed by law and recommended Elliot be expelled. A confidential expulsion hearing is scheduled for April 10.
I guess this school teaches you to be dishonest. What would the school have this boy do?
When I was a kid we would bring our new boy scout knives in for show and tell. Now we would be expelled from school for it. I wish the teachers and administrators spent as much time teaching Math, Science, and Reading as they do on zero tolerance. Maybe then the students would learn something contructive.

Totally agree with you on this school nonsense. Instead of paying attention to stupid things (for example: sexual harassment in 1st grade (??)), those teachers should start teaching. There is too many people who can't add 30 and 40 without thinking for an hour or using a calculator.
We used to be able to keep our shotguns and rifles in our trucks at school during hunting season. You never knew when the opportunity to kill Bambi or Thumper would arrise...
;o)
