Is This How Democrats Plan To Regain The Whitehouse?
John Edwards says he will raise taxes. If I remember correctly Walter Mondale said the same thing in 1984 and lost 49 states.
"Presidential candidate John Edwards is embracing a position that has been political suicide in the past -- admitting he would raise taxes.
The 2004 vice presidential nominee is betting that voters will back the idea in exchange for the promise of quality health coverage for all, part of the first major domestic policy initiative from a Democratic White House hopeful.
The tax increase would pay for the plan's cost of up to $120 billion a year. Edwards' proposal would require that every business provide health care coverage for employees or help them pay for it and every American has insurance."
Where exactly does Mr. Edwards think I can find an extra $10,000 a month to fund health care for my 30 employees? Would he have me raise the cost of a hamburger to $10? Is he so incredibly stupid that he thinks that somehow this would work? The government is already TAKING 2.9 TRILLION dollars from the taxpayers. I'd have to say that's quite enough!

John Edwards aborted all hopes he ever had of becoming president when in one of his first interviews he made the deadly tax statement. He may as well call it quits now.
The first political strike against Edwards was associating himself with John (Bandaid) Kerry. Edwards does not have what it takes to be the leader of our great country. If he had his way about the health insurance many businesses would just go completely under. As you stated, he would not mind if you had to raise the cost of a hamburger to ten dollars. He may have resources enough that it would not phase him to have increases in everything, but the average Joe on the street cannot afford it. It would probably put us into a depression.
Ironic, given the Bush Crime Family's reliance on unprecedented debt to finance world catastrophes, that you'd concern yourself with this country's economic health woes....
I guess God will rescue us.
Hash, the republicans with the help of God can do anything! Sounds like that was a slam against God, not a statement of faith or fact.
I pray that God will take care of this country.
