Democrat Values

Imus gets fired for calling some basketball players "nappy headed ho's" but for democrats it was ok to fantasize about Cheney and other Republicans being hanged.

Personally, I think the Imus situation is more of a sexism double standard than it is a racism case. I've heard journalists rip on the physical appearance of male athletes numerous times before, and there's little if no backlash from it. That said, I think the "nappy-headed" part of Imus' comment was more racially charged than "hos" in and of itself. This may not be a popular opinion, but I think Imus' comment was merely an old man awkwardly trying to use some warped version of contemporary slang to get a laugh.

But then again, I don't listen to Imus, so I'm no expert on his views when it comes to race relations. I've heard he's used questionable language before when dealing with race issues, but I have no context with which to comment in an informed manner.

Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and all the rest of them were all over the three Duke kids when they THOUGHT they had raped the girl. They have now been totally cleared of all charges. Have we heard any public apologies from any of them?
And they call Imus a racist? I don't think so!

Just goes to show the difference in how bigoted they are. I don't think Imus intended this to be in the context in which is was taken.

Imus should not have said what he did about the women basketball players and nothing should be said about hanging the president and vice president. Free speech has become sort of scarry, like maybe I should keep my mouth sometimes when things don't go right. Maybe
we all better be careful, never know who may call you on the rug! Not safe to open your mouth sometimes.

Where was Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson when the announcement was made that the Duke Lacrosse players were innocent? And it came 13 MONTHS after being wrongly charged! Never heard one word about the innocence of these young men from Al and Jesse. But little Al could not get to it quick enough when Imus made a statement about the Rutgers girl's basketball team? Where is the prejudice in Al and Jesse? Believe me, they proved where their prejudice lies by their actions. Shame on them both. If we are going to yell so loudly on tv about one horrible incident, then let's do it about other incidents...........

I don't know about the rest of you, but to me, this man/woman who calls himself/herself hashfanatic sounds like he/she is making terrorist threats. I have gone back through the archives of this site and he/she talks as though terrorism is his/her goal. Think maybe this is a potentially dangerous person?

Although I did not watch Imus, I'm aware that he was on the same program for about 30 years. He must have done something right during that time or he would not have lasted so long. Have no idea what he may have said in the past since I didn't watch his program It is strange how a couple of men can yell and scream bloody murder over this incident and not even mention the fact that one woman lied about the three Duke Lacross players who were innocent and proven innocent. Not one word from the screamers about this incident but then I truly would not expect them to say anything. Just forget about this injustice is their attitude.
