He either can't count or he doesn't know how many states we have. Someone should mention the number 50 to him.

This is such a non-story. The guy just mis-spoke. I think it's clear he meant to say he'd been to 47 states with one still to go, as he couldn't get to Hawaii and Alaska. I'm pretty sure a constitutional lawyer and sitting senator knows how many states there are. This is just another case of political pundits making a mountain out of a totally insignificant molehill. Both sides do it, and it's just dumb. It could've been worse - he could be Kevin James.

I think the senator was tired, or drunk or something. I've heard so many remarks from all 3 of them that didn't sound right. Be glad when this is all over.

Well, I'm sure he meant 47 states, not 57 because we only have 50. He should be well aware of that fact, after all he taught constitutional law in Chicago.
