U.S. Military Exceeds Recruiting Goals
The U.S. military exceeded key recruiting goals in December, appearing to overcome the difficulties it had last year in filling the ranks of its all-volunteer force, the Pentagon said Jan. 11.
The army and the marines, the services most heavily engaged in Iraq and Afghanistan, both surpassed their active duty recruiting goals for the month by six percent each, it said.
