My Kind Of Gun Control!

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A knife-wielding grocery store employee attacked eight co-workers Friday, seriously injuring four before a witness pulled a gun and stopped him, police said.
Ingram, chasing one victim into the store's parking lot, was subdued by Chris Cope, manager of a financial services office in the same small shopping center, Memphis Police Sgt. Vince Higgins said.
Cope said he grabbed a 9mm semiautomatic pistol from his pickup truck when he saw the attacker chasing the victim "like something in a serial killer movie."
"When he turned around and saw my pistol, he threw the knife away, put his hands up and got on the ground," Cope told The Associated Press. "He saw my gun and that was pretty much it."
The only thing better would have been if the knife weilding idiot was taking an eternal dirt nap from being shot but this isn't so bad. Oh, and I prefer a 380 but a 9mm ok.
This reminded me of a Senate vote last week that passed 84-16. Senator Vitter from Louisiana that would prohibit the state from taking away law abiding citizens guns during a natural disaster. What if this incident happened right after Katrina and this guys gun was taken away from him? There would be 8 dead victims instead it looks like all of them will survive.

If we had to give up our guns, then there would be no way of protecting our families and homes from anyone. But there again, the democrats want us to be sitting ducks for anything that comes our way. What do they expect us to do if someone breaks into our homes in the middle of the night or attacks us in our yard in the light of day? Do they expect us to have a "peaceful little meeting" and try to work it out diplomatically (Just like they support our being diplomatic and sensitive to the terrorist's feelings). God forbid that we insult anyone who is attacking us and God forbid that we should use our firearms to protect our lives.
They may not mind being taken out by some thug carrying a gun or knife, but most of us prefer to preserve our lives and the lives of our families.
I agree with everthing Linda said. Let's keep the gun laws so that all responsible citizens can protect themselves and their families. Heaven help us if the democrats ever regain control of the white house and/or congress. We may all be sitting ducks except the few who would not give up the right to bear arms.
