Poker Run

I didn't have much time after dark to take any pictures. In the last picture here if you were to pan to the right people were lined up for another 100 feet or so.

This event is called a "Poker Run." These are usually for someone who has recently passed or for someone gravely ill. In this case the event was in the honor of recently deceased pastor who's passion was for the orphanage in Thomasville North Carolina. Each Bike pays $15 to enter the Poker Run. They then go to 5 different bars and get a card. We were the last stop. The best poker hand won $100 and the worst hand got $25. The rest of the proceeds went to the orphanage. I figured there were around 300 bikes so that would make it about $4,375 that went to the kids.

The noise ordinance kicks in here at 11:00 pm so the crowd began to disperse at around that time. It took 8 of us until 2:30 am to get the place cleaned up. But it was well worth it.

What a wonderful thing these people are doing for the children in the orphanage. We should all be that concerned for these kids.
I think it's wonderful that you chose to participate in this and judging from the pictures, your business is really thriving. Keep up the good work.
