Bringing Back Memories

This made me bust out laughing. Like Ace, I remember these women in college too. My reaction was identical but unfortunately I can't write like he does.

Like Ace, I have none of these disfigurements. When I was young, some fellow sailors got drunk and ended up with one done in some sleazy tattoo parlor in Hong Kong or Singapore.

But for the most part, we considered them marks of having been in prison, not things of beauty or expression.

I have always considered them ugly and the problem is that once you have one, getting rid of it is near impossible and any attempt in in the best cases very painful.

Drunk sailors, prison inmates, and misguided youth of today's lost generation - that's who gets them and they all say the same thing to me - that the wearer is mindless, vain, and self-centered.

And as many have observed, what was cute at 18 is disfigurement at 30.

You are just getting old, that's it.

Yeah, you know, if I had to start, "dating," again, at my age, I don't think I could stomach sitting across the table in a restaurant with a tattoed, pierced, freaky looking fellow.

I guess I'm getting old, too!
