Democrats Find New Ways To "Support The Troops"

It's so touching to see how compassionate democrats are for our fine men and women in uniform.

SANTA CRUZ — UC Santa Cruz anti-war activists are claiming victory, saying their repeated efforts to keep military recruiters off campus have paid off.

Three recruitment offices announced this week they were backing out of a campus job fair set for Tuesday.

The announcement by the Marines and two Army recruitment offices comes after efforts by university officials to make military recruiters and targets of other campus protests feel more welcome and safe on campus.

"We hope that they've finally given up on UC Santa Cruz," said Alex Jabbari, a member of Students Against War.

Members of Students Against War have disrupted three recruitment efforts since 2005. Last April, four recruiters left the fair with a police escort after a crowd of student protesters blocked the entrance to the building where the Army and National Guard had set up information tables.

Next week, instead of a protest, the group will hold a victory celebration outside the campus bookstore.

Can we question their patriotism yet?

Our military is treated in a very disgraceful manner. Yet the students celebrating what they consider a victory are enjoying the freedoms our military provides. If we didn't have a military the students would not be able to celebrate anything. They may grow up someday and realize how ridiculous their actions have been, and hopefully will feel shame for what they have done.

Who would ever have thought we would see such anti-patriotic action on American soil? They treat our military like they are criminals instead of protectors.
They have more courage than any of the mentioned could ever begin to imagine. Thank God for these fine men and women who are willing to risk it all for our freedom and safety. We have a very dear family friend who has returned from Iraq and looks as if he may face another tour there. Not once have I heard him complain. He is happy to be one of the many giving us the chance to walk out on the streets without being bombed; One of the many giving us the chance to lay down our heads and fall asleep without being bombed. They are a wonderful group of people and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. They are all in my prayers daily.

No one can be patriotic, or even sane to degrade our military in this fashion. Yet they continue to live in a free country and enjoy everything the military makes possible for them. If they don't want to live in the land of the free and home of the brave, they should leave. Period.

Degradation of the armed forces is stooping low. Whatver anyone thinks about the war, the armed forces are there to protect us and to assure that we have the right to freedom. Think of that next time you hear someone make snide remarks about our servicemen.

Democrats don't support troops. They only support things that can harm our troops. I hope we don't get a democrat in office as president because if we do, we are open targets for terrorists.

Democrats don't give a damn about our troops. They are so self-
serving. All they can think about is the next election and what may slip through the cracks to help them get into office.

When recruiters are on school campuses it is good for the students, they can join the armed services and further their education after they complete their stint. All schools should be glad to have recruiters, not turn them away.
