NEW YORK (AP) - New York Times Co. says its second-quarter earnings fell 82 percent from the year-ago quarter boosted by a one-time gain. Meanwhile, print advertising revenue continued to shrink.

The New York-based newspaper publisher says its quarterly net income dropped to $21.1 million, or 15 cents per share, which included 11 cents per share in buyout costs.

Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expected income of 22 cents per share in the latest quarter. Analyst estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenue dropped 6 percent to $741.9 million, missing the average Wall Street estimate for $754 million. Ad revenue slipped down 11 percent, hurt mostly by fewer classified ads.

Chief Executive Janet Robinson says business was hurt by the "U.S. economic slowdown and secular forces playing out across the media industry."

Those "secular forces" would be the Times' far left wing bias. I do have a question, if the U.S. economic slowdown is really happening why is my business up 7% year over year? Just because the democrat run media repeats something time after time doesn't make it true. I can say I look just like Brad Pitt, I can say it every day.......but believe me I don't look a thing like Brad Pitt. It is sad that the media can lie every day about the economy and no one calls them on it.

We all know that the media give tons of money to democrats. I was even a bit amazed at exactly how much and the difference between democrat and Republican donations.



The New York Times' refusal to publish John McCain's rebuttal to Barack Obama's Iraq op-ed may be the most glaring example of liberal media bias this journalist has ever seen. But true proof of widespread media bias requires one to follow an old journalism maxim: Follow the money.

Even the Associated Press — no bastion of conservatism — has considered, at least superficially, the media's favoritism for Barack Obama. It's time to revisit media bias.

True to form, journalists are defending their bias by saying that one candidate, Obama, is more newsworthy than the other. In other words, there is no media bias. It is we, the hoi polloi, who reveal our bias by questioning the neutrality of these learned professionals in their ivory-towered newsrooms.

An analysis of federal records shows that the amount of money journalists contributed so far this election cycle favors Democrats by a 15:1 ratio over Republicans, with $225,563 going to Democrats, only $16,298 to Republicans.

Two-hundred thirty-five journalists donated to Democrats, just 20 gave to Republicans — a margin greater than 10-to-1. An even greater disparity, 20-to-1, exists between the number of journalists who donated to Barack Obama and John McCain.

Searches for other newsroom categories (reporters, correspondents, news editors, anchors, newspaper editors and publishers) produces 311 donors to Democrats to 30 donors to Republicans, a ratio of just over 10-to-1. In terms of money, $279,266 went to Dems, $20,709 to Republicans, a 14-to-1 ratio.

And while the money totals pale in comparison to the $9-million-plus that just one union's PACs have spent to get Obama elected, they are more substantial than the amount that Obama has criticized John McCain for receiving from lobbyists: 96 lobbyists have contributed $95,850 to McCain, while Obama — who says he won't take money from PACs or federal lobbyists — has received $16,223 from 29 lobbyists.

Before he died Wednesday evening, death row inmate Dale Leo Bishop apologized to his victim's family, thanked America and urged people to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

"For those who oppose the death penalty and want to see it end, our best bet is to vote for Barack Obama because his supporters have been working behind the scenes to end this practice," Bishop said.

Our biggest military hospital overseas is in Germany. Thousands of our wounded soldiers end up there from Iraq and Afghanistan. With hours to kill where does Obama go during his trip to Germany? Does he visit our wounded heroes? Of course not, he goes sightseeing. This man is a complete disgrace!

Well, they accepted one from Barack Hussein Obama just last week and now they won't let McCain rebut Obama's ridiculous essay. Irony Is Lost On NPR

This story is about how bad the economy is and that some people can't even afford to buy meat. Looking at the picture I don't think these two.........ahem.......er......well.......robust women have EVER missed a meal. On top of that one of them has NEVER had a job. How in the world can you get THAT FAT without having a job? How much can these lazy welfare sucking women get from food stamps? I could stand to lose 10-15 pounds but I guess if I want to get really obese I need to go on welfare. Kidney Stones. I really couldn't make this stuff up. Only the far left wing fanatical nut job base could take something this insane seriously.

More Americans are likely to suffer from kidney stones in the coming years as a result of global warming, according to researchers at the University of Texas.

Kidney stones, which are formed from dissolved minerals in the urine and can be extremely painful, are often caused by caused by dehydration, either by not drinking enough liquid or losing too much due to high heat conditions.

If global warming trends continue as projected by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2007, the United States can expect as much as a 30 percent growth in kidney stone disease in some of its driest areas, said the findings published in Monday's Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

At some point we all need to start laughing at these wackos!

Song Of The Day

While I was surfing the web I ran across this song. Boy does it bring back memories. We had a band called "New Fun Band" that played frequently at my old place in Chicago. It must have been the summer of 1992 when they first played this song, all the girls got up on the bar and danced. Back when things were a bit more naive and innocent. Believe it or not the bands version was even longer than this version. Don't mind all the goofy pictures in this video but the fans of Little Feat and "Dixie Chicken" probably were Al Gore fans :)

Of course you don't see any of this on abc,cbs,nbc,msnbc,cnn,etc...If it were 12 Republicans it would lead every newscast for months.

A SORDID TANGLE of corruption, cash and sex rocked the Statehouse yesterday in a political scandal that left one current and one former legislator and 10 current and former staff members facing criminal charges.

Among the accusations leveled by two state grand juries: Former top legislative staffer Mike Manzo got his lover, a twenty-something former rural beauty queen, a $29,000 job and $7,000 bonus mostly for doing her schoolwork.

State Attorney General Tom Corbett announced the charges against the 12, all Democrats, in a news conference in Harrisburg.

"It's a very sad day in Pennsylvania," Corbett said.

The long-running investigation began with a Harrisburg Patriot-News story about secret bonuses to legislative employees. The 12 are accused of using public funds to finance political activities, a vacation, meals for friends and Manzo's no-show job for his girlfriend.

Democrat congressman Ed Markey claims Somalia was caused by global warming. These wackos are just a liberal parody of themselves:

“In Somalia back in 1993, climate change, according to 11 three- and four-star generals, resulted in a drought which led to famine,” said Markey.

“That famine translated to international aid we sent in to Somalia, which then led to the U.S. having to send in forces to separate all the groups that were fighting over the aid, which led to Black Hawk Down. There was this scene where we have all of our American troops under fire because they have been put into the middle of this terrible situation,” he added.

Markey was referring to the battle of Mogadishu in 1993, when 18 members of a U.S. military team were killed in a helicopter crash and a resulting firefight

The smearing of Tony Snow continues, even from supposedly "mainstream" media outlets like the Associated Press:

With a quick-from-the-lip repartee, broadcaster's good looks and a relentlessly bright outlook — if not always a command of the facts — he became a popular figure around the country to the delight of his White House bosses.

Critics suggested that Snow was turning the traditionally informational daily briefing into a personality-driven media event short on facts and long on confrontation. He was the first press secretary, by his own accounting, to travel the country raising money for Republican candidates.

Who are these critics? Where are the examples of Tony being "short on facts?" They don't supply us with any so we have to assume they are lying.

These Republicans are criminals and the democrats who voted for this war including. I don't feel sorry him. I think it is time for redemption. Most of us deserve the worst possible punishment for our arrogance and the crimes we committed in the name of liberty,justice and other BS on the rest of the world. THis country runs based on Greed. There are many many more. Democrats love to dehumanize their opponents. They would have made Hitler and Stalin proud!

Did I mention CNN also got into the bashing the dead? Click on just about any of the pictures and you'll see more vitriol aimed at a Tony Snow. Remember, CNN had to authorize all the videos/comments.

I actually had to look up to see who were Clinton's press secretaries. They were George Stephonopoulos and Mike McCurry. If Mr. McCurry came up and shook my hand I still wouldn't know who he was. Did you see anyone wishing pain and suffering in death to either of those two? I didn't wish death on George Stephonopoulos because he lied about Samolia. We knew we could have gotten the tanks and other heavy equipment in there on time. Of course he lied and 18 Marines lost their lives because of it but I didn't want him dead.

Today's democrats sure are looking a whole lot like the Nazi's aren't they? The Nazi's dehumanized the Jews.......democrats learned from them and are doing the same to Republicans. Thank goodness we have the guns!

Stunning Media Bias

Some soldiers were asked who they were going to vote for. ABC showed 5 of them. 3 said Obama and 2 said Clinton. No mention whatsoever of the 54 who said they would vote for McCain. The democrat editor, anchor, and reporter made it seem that all the soldiers were voting for a democrat when in fact the vast majority were voting Republican. The corruption of the media is truly stunning!

More Democrat Voting Fraud

MARION, Ala. — Federal and state authorities are looking into accusations of voting fraud in three largely black counties of Alabama, including Perry and Lowndes Counties, which played a historic role in the struggle for black voting rights in the 1960s.

In May, a local citizens group gathered affidavits detailing several cases in which at least one Democratic county official paid citizens for their votes, or encouraged them to vote multiple times. The affidavits were presented to state officials in Montgomery, the capital, and after the June 3 primary, the Alabama attorney general, Troy King, a Republican, seized voting records from the primary election in Bullock, Lowndes and Perry Counties.

The United States Department of Justice posted a team of observers to monitor the primary, and the Alabama secretary of state, Beth Chapman, a Republican, reported hearing from one of the federal observers that a candidate had “free rein” of a polling place, where campaigning is prohibited, passing out sample ballots and instructing voters how to vote.

Until prison terms are enacted for these felonies democrats will keep using these illegal tactics to try and steal elections.

Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole."

That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.

What is this world coming to? At some point we're all going to have to come together and say ENOUGH!

"Climate Change Delusion"

I couldn't make this up, now some nut job psychiatrist says that he's treated a teenager for "Climate Change Delusion."

PSYCHIATRISTS have detected the first case of "climate change delusion" - and they haven't even yet got to Kevin Rudd and his global warming guru.
Writing in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry, Joshua Wolf and Robert Salo of our Royal Children's Hospital say this delusion was a "previously unreported phenomenon".

"A 17-year-old man was referred to the inpatient psychiatric unit at Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne with an eight-month history of depressed mood . . . He also . . . had visions of apocalyptic events."

(So have Alarmist of the Year Tim Flannery, Profit of Doom Al Gore and Sir Richard Brazen, but I digress.)

"The patient had also developed the belief that, due to climate change, his own water consumption could lead within days to the deaths of millions of people through exhaustion of water supplies."

Obama Wants To Campaign In Germany

No, I'm not kidding:

BERLIN (AFP) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel has slammed a request by Barack Obama to give a speech this month before the Brandenburg Gate as inappropriate, her deputy spokesman said Wednesday.

The conservative leader said that while she would be pleased to meet the US Democratic presidential hopeful, it would be wrong for him to hold a "campaign rally" at the historic symbol of German unity.

"It is unusual to do electioneering abroad," spokesman Thomas Steg told reporters.

"It is unusual to hold election rallies abroad. No German candidate for high office would even think of using the National Mall (in Washington) or Red Square in Moscow for a rally because it would not be seen as appropriate."

Why doesn't this fraud run for German Chancellor? He seems to like Europe so much more than the United States.

Here it is in all it's glory. On the other hand the person singing the national anthem is TERRIBLE! I could barely get through the 53 or so seconds. Tell me something, why in the world would this man want to become president of a country he despises? If he does win we'll get the government we deserve.

Official Language, How About Spanish?

According to Barack anyway. He actually says we don't need to worry about immigrants speaking English (then why do I have to press 1 for English when I call the cable company?) we NEED to teach our kids Spanish? Why is that Barry O? We live in America you dumbass! Notice how he's also "embarrassed" of each and every one of us because we don't speak French or German. Let me tell Barack something, people learn English because this is the most powerful and influential country in the world bar none. This man literally hates this country. Why doesn't he run for president of Mexico or France? I'm sure he'd be much more comfortable in those socialist utopias.



Did I mention that Barack doesn't speak Spanish or French? In fact I bet most high school seniors can speak Spanish better than Obama. This man is a fraud!

The proudest moment for new immigrants is when they receive their citizenship during a highly anticipated ceremony. A select few got to hear it straight from the President of the United States. That kind of honor will stay with these patriotic immigrants for the rest of their lives. Now......how do democrats celebrate these new citizens? By ruining it for everyone when they begin screeching "impeach Bush," and run around looking like fools. But at least the new citizens and their loved ones don't take too kindly to the interruption.

She may have defaulted on mortgages and lost a home in foreclosure, but that hasn't stopped Long Beach Rep. Laura Richardson from driving in style and at great expense, courtesy of the taxpayer. The lease on Richardson's 2007 Lincoln Town Car costs about $1,300 a month -- the most expensive lease of any member of the House of Representatives, reports the Daily Breeze. Richardson's monthly lease, paid by the federal government, is much larger than the $400 to $800 a month that other House members pay, according to a taxpayer group.

While Richardson has leased the vehicle only since last fall, it already been involved in one traffic accident while being driven by a staff member. In addition, Long Beach police ticketed the car in January for illegal parking, a ticket that has gone unpaid.

The congresswoman has had a spotty record with government-issued autos in the past:

When she was a councilwoman in Long Beach, she crashed her BMW, abandoned it at a body shop, failed to pay a prior repair bill, and then racked up 30,000 miles on a city-owned hybrid in one year -- apparently violating a policy against personal use of city cars.

Can anyone find her party affiliation? Me neither.....we all know what that means....she's a democrat because if she were a Republican it would have said so in the Title and at least 3 more times in the short article.

The last 2 years he's been running a partial schedule but next year he's going to give it one more try, to win that elusive championship. Free Agency Home Run!!!!

Another post that no one will care about except me. July 1st was the opening day for free agency in hockey. Usually the Blackhawks end up over spending for mediocre talent. This year the 3 best players available were Huet (goalie) Campbell (defenseman) and Hossa (forward) In years past I wouldn't even think we would have a chance at any of those three. Chicago was so bad for so long we could (and did) offer more money to the best players but they chose to take less money and play elsewhere. Since the owner died last November his son has really turned things around. We didn't make the playoffs last year but we were only 3 points away. Closer than we've been in years. Anyway, these veterans out there looking for a big payday and a Stanley Cup have noticed our young talent (Calder trophy winner Patrick Kane 19 years old) and Calder trophy runner up 20 year old Johnathon Toews.

To make a long story short (I know, too late) we signed both Campbell and Huet. Our biggest weaknesses last year were our power play and Campbell is widely considered the best power play quarterback out there and we give up too many soft goals. Huet went 11-2 down the stretch to get the Washington Capitals into the playoffs. Even ESPN is saying we are the only team to hit a "home run" in free agency.

After a decade (sans 2002) outside looking in during playoff time barring any kind of devastating injuries we'll be in the playoffs and may even contend for the coveted Stanley Cup.
